pharma.be, located in Brussels, is the voice of the innovative Belgian - human and veterinary medicine - pharmaceutical industry. As interest group it represents the small and large innovative (bio)pharmaceutical companies and is the center of excellence for the industry.

pharma.be represents many interests and maintains relationships between its members and national instances like the “Geneesmiddelenagentschap/Agence du Médicament” and the “RIZIV/INAMI”. It also maintains close contacts with the representative associations of patients, physicians, veterinarians, pharmacists and social security funds.

As an interlocutor, pharma.be is closely involved with the societal and public challenges in health care.

To strengthen the impact of pharma.be in the public health aspects related to the association, internally and externally, pharma.be is looking to strengthen its team with a Public Health officer.

The public health team within the association is handling a variety of dossiers like Clinical Trials, registration of medicines, labelling and packaging, post registration activities such as variations, pharmacovigilance, distribution, patient support programs, vaccines… .

Key Responsibilities and Job Functions

  • You give support to fellow public health experts; preparation files, presentations, meetings with member companies and external meetings

  • You participate actively in the relevant pharma.be’s task forces and working groups where member companies discuss and develop their points of view.

  • You reflect on the public health aspects of medicines and healthcare policies, together with the other public health experts.

  • In support of the communication team experts, you keep our members up to date with the latest public health information by sharing this information with them through our extranet, newsletters, information sessions and working groups.

  • You will liaise, over some time, with relevant stakeholders such as for example, federal administrations, other professional associations, …

Desired Skills and Experience

  • You obtained a Master Degree in Sciences like Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biology,

    Biomedical Sciences, Veterinary Medicine, …

  • Some relevant working experience and knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and its regulatory affairs environment are necessary to qualify as a candidate.

  • Minimum of 2-year experience in a company or association.

  • You are a dynamic and ambitious professional willing to gain insight in and be part of the pharmaceutical policy in Belgium, with a special focus on public health issues.

  • You are flexible and able to manage a challenging workload.

  • Fluent in Dutch, French, and English and strong in oral and written communication.

  • You are able to speak publicly.

  • You are able to work independently and as a team member; you have the ability to collaborate with others to leverage internal expertise and achieve mutual objectives; as a team player, it is the result of the team which is most important for you.

  • Flexibility, collegiality and sense of initiative are decisive personality factors.

  • You are service-oriented towards our member companies and pay attention to their needs.
